The Chinese city of Guangzhou will host two major sports business exhibitions concurrently in November this year. China Sports Culture Expo and the China Sports Tourism Expo (CSCTE 2019) will take place at the Poly World Trade Center from 28-30 November and cover a total exhibition space of 46,000 sqm. More than 160,000 delegates are expected to attend the two expos over the three days as well as 400 brands and 600 media outlets. 2019 Fifa Club World Cup, Qatar: teams, fixtures, dates, travel details

Fifa has released the fixture dates for the 2019 Club World Cup in Qatar.  Seven teams will play in the tournament, which begins on 11 December and ends with the final on 21 December.  Three clubs have already been confirmed for the Club World Cup, including the reigning Uefa Champions League winners Liverpool.  The Premier League side will be joined in Qatar by Concacaf Champions League winners CF Monterrey from Mexico and OFC Champions League winners Hienghène Sport from New Caledonia. Clubs from CAF, AFC and CONMEBOL will be confirmed in the coming months. As the Uefa representative, Liverpool will enter the tournament directly at the semi-final stage. Ryder Cup returning to Ireland in 2026 at Adare Manor

It’s been a huge week for Irish golf. On 21 July Irish star Shane Lowry won The Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland and just four days later it’s been confirmed that the 2026 Ryder Cup will be hosted on the Emerald Isle. On 25 July it was announced that Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland, had won the bid for the 2026 Ryder Cup - golf’s biennial team event between Europe and the United States. China’s winter sports industry boosted by Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games is having an immediate effect on China’s winter sports industry.  An International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission meeting in July was told how there are plans to get 300 million Chinese people involved in winter sports. The Open 2019: 237,750 attend golf major at Royal Portrush

The 148th Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland will see a crowd of 237,750 attend the golf major in July - a record for a championship held outside of St Andrews in Scotland.  Organisers of the British golf major have announced that this year’s attendance will beat the 237,000 who went to St Andrews in 2015 and the 235,000 at Royal Birkdale in 2017.  The attendance at St Andrews in 2000 - 239,000 - remains the highest with Royal Portrush now in second place. It has been announced that the 2019 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after-race concerts will feature The Killers and Travis Scott as two of the headline acts.
