TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE UNFORGETTABLE CLASS OF 1962:  

GREETINGS!!

                Here’s hoping this letter finds you well and still filled with fond memories
about the times and friends you had at Greensboro High School!  Wouldn’t you know it--
-Father Time has not slowed the clock at all for us, so here we are fast approaching our
 40^th graduation anniversary.  To celebrate this special event and have some real fun, eight of your classmates (see below) formed a reunion committee and have planned a real blast for everyone!   

              This event will be a very casual affair to include a Friday night get-together with
drinks around the hotel pool and a buffet style dinner on Saturday night with none other
than the Hot Nuts band providing entertainment!!  What a deal!  Yes, the Hot Nuts
are still around although some of the original members have retired.  Other events being
 planned or contemplated include a golf outing, a trip to a local attraction or special event,
 softball, volleyball, hiking, etc. 

            The costs for our reunion are as follows:

●   Friday night:                                                      Pool party with cash bar            

          ●   Saturday night supper and entertainment:     $ 80  per person, cash bar               

          ●   hotel room:                                                         $ 74 + tax per night (make your own reservations) 

For activities such as golf and a trip to a local attraction/special event, we will provide further information about these as we get closer to the time for our reunion.  A lot depends on the number of people expressing interest in such activities.   

The pool party on Friday night will be for our class only, but the Saturday night affair may include members of the classes of 1960 and 1961---representatives from each class approached your reunion committee desiring to participate somehow in the events of the weekend.  For reasons of friendship and a desire to lower overall costs for everyone, we decided to let members from these classes join with us on Saturday night.    

AS EVERYONE KNOWS, A 40^th HIGH SCHOOL REUNION  

IS A VERY SPECIAL AFFAIR, SOMETHING NOT TO BE MISSED!!

            So, dear friends, please consider this a very warm invitation to attend your reunion---we want very much to see you there!  Let’s face it---we’re not getting any younger, so better to take advantage of these type activities while we can!  To help us finalize plans and other matters, we really need to hear from you as soon as possible about your intentions on attending the event. 

            Enclosed with this letter is a short, one-page registration/information sheet that needs to be completed and mailed back to us at your earliest convenience but no later (please!) than May 1.

  Timely receipt of this information from everyone will greatly help in making final plans for our reunion.  Even if you cannot attend, please complete the form and send to us for an updated class directory that we plan to make available at the reunion (or mail to those who cannot attend).  There may have to be a separate charge for this item depending on the overall costs of our reunion and the number of attendees.      

For folks who plan on attending, please include a check for the cost of your Saturday night’s food and entertainment along with your registration sheet.  We need help with operating funds over the next several months---reunion committee members and several other classmates have already made deposits of $ 100 each.  Remember, everyone is responsible for making his/her own room reservation with the Marriott Hotel at (800) 228-9290 or (336) 852-6450.  For the $ 74 rate, you need to specify that you are part of the GHS 40^th reunion group.  Your hotel reservation needs to be made as soon as possible.
